When you call AgFi, you talk to a LIVE person – not a machine. It’s fundamental to who we are and, we believe, necessary for building and maintaining trust in everything we do.
1980s – HARD TIMES
With significant weather events and historically high interest rates, this decade represents some of the most challenging times for farmers. Deep connections are formed as many in the Farm Credit System struggle to help good producer customers keep their farms and restructure debts with limited tools available.

1989 – NEW BEGINNINGS
Three business associates, Alan Singleton, Don Mattern and Marcus McCance, leave their positions within the Farm Credit System with a dream of providing exceptional service, uncompromising integrity and competitive financial solutions to agricultural producers across rural America. Their entrepreneurial spirit and the creation of the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation, (Farmer Mac), brings the concept of a secondary market for agriculture into focus. American Farm Mortgage Company (AFMC) is born.
1990s – EARLY STAGES
Truly a small business, the handful of dedicated employees work out of offices in the basements of their homes. Relying on strong connections within the agricultural lending industry, a business model begins to take shape.
1990s – GROWING PARTNERSHIPS
Known for offering a one-stop-shop; handling every aspect of a loan, the company starts to gain traction. Early success is built on a reputation for constructing well-documented loan files that include a thorough credit analysis. This commitment paves the way to many valuable partnerships with trusted investors that remain intact today.

1998 – FRESH START
Looking to the future and continued growth opportunities, a core group of seven employees leaves the original company to start Agricultural Mortgage Company of America, or AMCA.

2001 – WELCOME HOME
AMCA becomes a member of the CGB Enterprises, Inc. family of businesses and is given a new name – CGB Agri Financial Services, Inc. This exciting next step leads the original founders to embark on new levels of growth with a global partner who has similar core values and decades of dedication to the ag industry.

2006 – CORE BUSINESS
The growing relationship with Farmer Mac flourishes as AgFi officially becomes one of their leading Central Servicers.

2007 – EXPANDED SERVICES
CGB Enterprises, Inc. creates a new business unit called Diversified Services and the first crop insurance policy is written. This addition to the CGB family of businesses establishes a significant partnership for AgFi as they team up to work with producers on their risk management plans.
2012 – GROWING FAMILY
The first Sales Officers are hired in strategic locations across the country. Representatives head out into the field to meet with producers, working one-on-one to find financial solutions to help them accomplish their goals.

2014 – BUILDING MOMENTUM
The company identifies its growing requests for financing Morton Buildings and a trusted partnership is formed. As the relationship evolves, so too do the product offerings to meet the needs of customers.

2018 – FACELIFT
As the company experiences tremendous growth, now servicing a $2+ Billion portfolio, an extensive rebranding establishes our current trade name AgriFinancial (AgFi) and three leaf logo.
2020 – BRANCHING OUT
The sale of CGB’s crop insurance company redefines AgFi’s approach to risk management. Existing relationships are refocused and new partnerships are pursued to assist customers with succession planning, grain marketing and economic perspectives, and new, enhanced products are proposed.
2021 – CONTINUED SUCCESS
Coming off of a record-breaking year, in the midst of a global pandemic, AgFi increases to more than 60 employees and completes an office renovation and expansion project to support their growing family.
2022 – STORING UP MORE OPTIONS
Top quality relationships bring more benefits to customers. A perfect match is found in family-owned Sukup Manufacturing Co. and brings with it enhanced financial products, streamlined processes, and personalized customer service for producers interested in grain storage, drying, and handling equipment.
